This remarkable achievement has been realized within a short span of time since the establishment of the UBA Cell at <strong>IIMT University<\/strong> in <strong>October 2022<\/strong>. With the UBA Cell&#8217;s inception in <strong>October 2022<\/strong>, we have prioritized fostering innovation, empowering rural communities, and contributing to <strong>India\u2019s development<\/strong>. Being recognized as one of the top-performing institutions in a short span is a testament to the strategic direction laid down by <strong>IIMT University\u2019s leadership<\/strong> and the university&#8217;s dedication to <strong>social responsibility<\/strong> and <strong>nation-building<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Invitation to Showcase Work at RCI-IIT Roorkee<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>As a part of our journey, we were invited by <strong>RCI-IIT Roorkee<\/strong> to participate in a prestigious orientation program. On <strong>September 7th, 2024<\/strong>, a team comprising three talented students and led by our esteemed faculty member, <strong>Dr. Shubha Dwivedi<\/strong>, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Biotechnology, attended the event. The <strong>Regional Coordinating Institute (RCI)<\/strong> at <strong>IIT Roorkee<\/strong> aimed to inspire and provide a platform for the <strong>Top 5 Participating Institutions (PCI)<\/strong> to showcase their projects, initiatives, and successes.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Participation in Knowledge-Sharing Session<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>During the orientation, the objective was clear: to foster collaboration and <strong>knowledge sharing<\/strong> between the top-performing institutions and other <strong>PCI<\/strong> members. The orientation allowed us to present our key achievements and highlight the pivotal role that <strong>IIMT University<\/strong> plays in <strong>empowering rural communities<\/strong> through technology and education.<\/p>\n<p>Our presentation included success stories from <strong>IIMT University\u2019s UBA Cell<\/strong>, emphasizing our <strong>rural engagement programs<\/strong> and innovative initiatives. This exposure not only elevated our standing among <strong>Unnat Bharat Abhiyan institutions<\/strong> but also gave us the opportunity to collaborate with thought leaders, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Prof. K.K. Pant<\/strong>, Director of <strong>IIT Roorkee<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Prof. P.K. Singh<\/strong>, Project Director of <strong>NCI-IIT Delhi<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Dr. Sunil Dubey<\/strong>, Deputy Director, Department of Agriculture<\/li>\n<li><strong>Prof. Ashish Pandey<\/strong>, RCI-IIT Roorkee Coordinator<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Innovative Projects from UBA Cell of IIMT University<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The UBA Cell at <strong>IIMT University<\/strong> has undertaken several impactful projects aimed at improving the socio-economic status of rural communities. Our initiatives include:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Sustainable Agriculture and Livelihood Development Programs<\/strong>: We have implemented cutting-edge solutions that promote sustainable farming practices. By introducing advanced agricultural techniques, we aim to improve crop yields and income for rural farmers.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Renewable Energy Solutions<\/strong>: One of the key initiatives of the UBA Cell is the promotion of renewable energy in rural areas. Our team has worked on deploying <strong>solar energy systems<\/strong> to provide <strong>off-grid villages<\/strong> with reliable, clean electricity, helping to reduce dependence on non-renewable resources.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Skill Development and Vocational Training<\/strong>: Through <strong>skill development workshops<\/strong>, we are helping local communities acquire new skills that will enhance their employability. This includes training in <strong>agricultural technologies<\/strong>, <strong>handicrafts<\/strong>, and <strong>basic IT skills<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Health and Sanitation Campaigns<\/strong>: Our <strong>health awareness programs<\/strong> have played a significant role in improving rural health. We conduct regular medical camps, distribute <strong>sanitation kits<\/strong>, and educate communities on <strong>hygiene practices<\/strong>, contributing to better health outcomes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Water Conservation Projects<\/strong>: Addressing the critical issue of water scarcity, we have launched water conservation programs in several villages, promoting <strong>rainwater harvesting<\/strong> and efficient water management techniques to ensure sustainable water resources.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><strong>Acknowledgment from Distinguished Leaders<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Our participation at <strong>RCI-IIT Roorkee<\/strong> not only brought recognition but also invaluable feedback from some of the most distinguished leaders in the field. <strong>Prof. K.K. Pant<\/strong> and <strong>Prof. P.K. Singh<\/strong> commended the work of <strong>IIMT University\u2019s UBA Cell<\/strong> and encouraged us to continue leading in rural development initiatives.
