Role Overview
The Director General is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative operations of the University. The incumbent will work in close collaboration with the Vice Chancellor's Office, Registrar, and Heads of Departments to ensure smooth institutional functioning, discipline, security, compliance, and campus governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist and advise the Vice Chancellor on all administrative and operational matters of the University.
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day campus operations including security, housekeeping, maintenance, and transport.
- Act as Administration In-Charge for all non-academic institutional functions including estate management, vendor relations, and facility oversight.
- Oversee local operations including liaison with district administration, police, revenue department, and other government agencies.
- Ensure strict enforcement of University rules, regulations, and codes of conduct across all campuses and hostels.
- Manage crisis situations, emergency response, and incident management with efficiency and composure.
- Lead and mentor the administrative staff, promoting a culture of discipline, accountability, and service orientation.
- Support the organisation of convocations, academic events, state/national-level functions, and VIP visits.
- Coordinate with law enforcement and civil authorities for campus safety, legal compliance, and community relations.
- Assist in formulation and implementation of administrative policies, SOPs, and institutional protocols.
- Undertake any other responsibilities as assigned by the Vice Chancellor / Management.

Desirable Attributes
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing large institutions, organisations, or establishments.
- Familiarity with administrative processes in educational institutions, public sector units, or large civilian organisations.
- Strong crisis management, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in working with government departments, district authorities, and regulatory agencies.
- Post-retirement experience in educational, corporate, or public administration roles will be an added advantage.
