🌱 Hands-on Learning for a Sustainable Future at IIMT University
The Faculty of Agricultural Science at IIMT University, Meerut organized a 5-day Soil Testing Workshop dedicated to promoting sustainable agriculture and practical learning. The program empowered students with essential skills in soil health analysis, fertilizer management, and eco-friendly crop production techniques.
Combining laboratory demonstrations with expert mentorship, the workshop bridged academic learning and real-world agricultural applications—preparing students to become sustainability-driven professionals and contributors to community-based agricultural innovation.
🔬 IFFCO-Funded Soil Testing Laboratory: Free Access for Farmers
As part of its mission to integrate education with social responsibility, IIMT University operates an IFFCO-funded Soil Testing Laboratory that provides free soil testing services to farmers and promotes technology-driven farming practices.
- Free Soil Testing for Farmers: Farmers attending the Ghosthi were guided to the IFFCO Soil Testing Lab at IIMT University, where they could analyze their soil samples at no cost. This initiative promotes smart fertilizer use and soil conservation to enhance crop yield sustainably.
- Technology Transfer & Expert Guidance: Soil samples collected from farmers’ fields were tested in the lab, and detailed explanations were provided on how to interpret soil health reports. Farmers received personalized advice on applying fertilizers based on Soil Health Card recommendations, ensuring long-term soil fertility and productivity.
- Student Skill Development & Research Exposure: From 4th to 8th August 2025, a specialized Soil Testing Workshop trained 40 students in soil sampling, lab testing procedures, and data interpretation. This hands-on learning experience prepared students to extend scientific soil testing support to the farming community.
