A Grand Success: The All India Kisan Mela 2025 Concludes

The First All India Kisan Mela 2025, hosted by the College of Agricultural Sciences at IIMT University, Meerut, concluded triumphantly after a highly impactful run from 7th to 9th October, 2025. The three-day event was a resounding success in promoting modern, scientific farming among the agricultural community, witnessing overwhelming participation from across northern India.

The Mela successfully achieved its objective of fostering a crucial hub for the exchange of knowledge, display of cutting-edge agricultural technology, and celebration of rural heritage, thus accelerating the integration of science with cultivation practices.

Inauguration & Visionary Address: Science Meets Cultivation

The event was inaugurated by the esteemed Chancellor of IIMT University, Shri Yogesh Mohan Ji Gupta. He emphasized the Mela’s dual purpose:

"This is not just a Kisan Mela, but a Vigyan Mela (Science Fair). When agriculture and animal husbandry merge with science, these sectors can yield more profit than any other commercial business. Adopting scientific techniques and quality products is essential to boost production capacity and make India a developed nation."

Chancellor Shri Gupta, accompanied by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Deepa Sharma and Registrar Dr. V.P. Rakesh, toured the exhibits, marking the start of a highly informative event.

The Mela was organized by the School of Agricultural Sciences, led by Dean Dr. Rajbir Singh, and held with the generous financial support of IFFCO and IFFCO Tokio General Insurance Company.

Key Highlights & Attractions That Captivated Visitors

1. The ₹8 Crore Star: Murrah Bull 'Vidhayaak'

The undisputed centre of attraction was the magnificent Murrah breed bull, 'Vidhayaak,' valued at approximately ₹8 Crores. Brought by the renowned farmer and Padma Shri Awardee, Shri Narendra Singh from Haryana, the bull’s massive physique and proven excellence inspired dairy farmers on the importance of breed quality and scientific animal care.

2. Advanced Agri-Tech & Machinery Expo

Over 150 stalls showcased the latest in farm innovation, including modern agricultural equipment, high-yield and climate-resilient seed varieties, sustainable fertilizers, and crucial technology for post-harvest management, directly addressing practical farmer challenges.

3. Livestock & Cultural Showcase

  • The All India and UP-level Cattle Competition featured top breeds, including the popular ‘Ram-Lakhan’ bull pair from Hisar.
  • Engaging folk performances by Haryana's Ragini Artists entertained the vast crowd.
  • A major culinary hit was the delicious 'Jalebi' prepared by the famous Tau Baljeet Ji from Haryana.

Looking Ahead: IIMT's Commitment to Agriculture

The National Kisan Mela 2025 concluded with significant success in knowledge transfer, with thousands of farmers gaining practical insights on techniques like Zero Tillage and Integrated Pest Management (IPM). The event successfully strengthened the crucial link between academia, industry, and the farming community.
