High Commissioner of Malta Mr. Reuben Gauci interacts with students at IIMT University Meerut. India was the first to recognize Malta as an independent country. India, which is teaching the world in the role of Guru, is progressing rapidly. Interacting with the students at IIMT University, the High Commissioner of Malta, Mr. Rueben Gauci said that India and Malta have cultural, business, and educational ties established for decades. Like good friends, India and Malta have always stood by each other.
The High Commissioner of Malta, Mr. Reuben Gauci arrived at IIMT University, Ganganagar, Meerut today. First of all, the Chancellor of IIMT University, Yogesh Mohanji Gupta welcomed the High Commissioner. The Chancellor discussed with the High Commissioner the relations established between India and Malta. Thereafter the High Commissioner visited the university. The Vice Chancellor of IIMT University, Dr. Deepa Sharma informed the High Commissioner about the achievements of the University. Seeing the R&D Cell of the university, the High Commissioner praised the models made by the students of the university.
After this, when High Commissioner Mr. Reuben Gauci reached the main seminar hall, the students welcomed him with thunderous applause. The High Commissioner inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp in front of the statue of Goddess Saraswati. Ekta Sharma, who is conducting the forum, introduced the country of Malta and the High Commissioner sir.
Addressing the students, High Commissioner Shri Reuben Gauci praised the democracy established in India and the culture and tolerance that has become a symbol of Indianness. The High Commissioner said that apart from research and development, India has progressed rapidly in many fields and is now giving lessons to the world by playing the role of a guru. India and Malta have strong ties. There are currently over 8000 Indian and 112 Indian companies operating in Malta. He told the students that many of them may also be seen working in a Malta company in the future.
Answering the questions of the students, the High Commissioner, who had been a teacher before joining politics, said that Malta is the 10th smallest country in the world. But it is the only country that is part of the European Union, Commonwealth, and Schengen. Many companies working in the field of pharmaceuticals supply medicines to many countries. Production and tourism play an important role in Malta’s economy. Being a very beautiful sea area, films produced by other countries are also shot in Malta. Malta is now moving towards gas and green energy by reducing its dependence on electricity for energy.
In the end, the High Commissioner honored the students who asked questions.
