About IIMT Student Union (IIMTSU)
The IIMT Student Union (IIMTSU) is the formally recognised student representative body of IIMT University, Meerut, established under the authority of the Registrar of IIMT University (U.P. Act No. 32 of 2016). IIMTSU represents all registered undergraduate and postgraduate students across all 16 Schools of the university.
The Student Union is student-led, democratically elected, and university-recognised โ ensuring that the student voice is heard at every level of institutional governance, from academic matters to campus welfare, sports, cultural life, and social responsibility. IIMTSU works in close coordination with the Vice Chancellor's office, the Registrar, and the Academic Council.
Affiliation: IIMT Student Union is affiliated to the national student body framework under the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), enabling IIMT students to participate in All India Inter-University competitions and national student events.

Elected Leadership Structure
IIMTSU leadership is elected annually by the student body through a democratic voting process. Every registered student of IIMT University has the right to vote and to stand for election. The leadership structure applies across all clubs and school-level student bodies within IIMTSU.

Annual Elections: IIMTSU elections are held at the beginning of each academic year. All registered IIMT University students are eligible to vote. School-level representatives are elected separately within each of the 16 Schools, forming the wider IIMTSU council.

Student Clubs & Organisations under IIMTSU
IIMTSU oversees a vibrant ecosystem of student clubs and organisations across all disciplines. All clubs operate on the principle that they are "by the students, for the students" โ with student-elected leadership and university recognition. Students from any of the 16 Schools may join any club.
Established December 18, 2017. Leads plantation drives, zero-plastic campaigns, solar workshops, and SDG awareness events. Nodal Officer: Prof. Mukta Sharma.
Coordinates community outreach, UBA village programmes, health camps, and social responsibility drives serving 12,000+ community members annually.
Promotes ethnic diversity, cultural events, music, dance, drama, and student talent. Organises annual cultural festivals and inter-school competitions.
Works with IIMT CIIE and IIMT-BIF to foster startup culture. Organises case study competitions, pitch events, and ideathons. IIC 4-Star rated.
Campus photography, creative writing, debate, quiz competitions, and literary society events. Publishes the IIMT student newsletter.
Smart India Hackathon participation, ThingQbator Cohort 8, robotics projects, coding competitions, and AI/ML innovation drives.
Choir, orchestra, classical and contemporary dance troupes performing at campus events, fests, and inter-university cultural competitions.
Organises regular blood donation camps in partnership with regional blood banks. Active participation from students and staff across all schools.
Promotes mental and physical wellbeing through yoga sessions, health awareness drives, and coordination with the Counselling Centre and Health Centre.
Moot court competitions, parliamentary debate, model UN, and legal awareness drives. Open to students of all disciplines.
Linked to the School of Agricultural Sciences and UBA. Organises Kisan Mela participation, sustainable farming awareness, and rural development projects.
Trained peer supporters offering first-line emotional support, signposting to counselling services, and mental health awareness campaigns.
