IIMT University invites applications from distinguished industry professionals for the role of Professor of Practice. This position is designed to bridge academia and industry by integrating real-world expertise, innovative practices, and emerging industry trends into our teaching, research, and institutional development activities.
The Professor of Practice will contribute significantly to experiential learning, industry-oriented curriculum design, mentorship, and collaborative projects that enhance student readiness for the future workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Training

Deliver practice-oriented courses, workshops, and masterclasses aligned with industry standards.

Integrate case studies, simulations, live projects, and experiential learning into academic delivery.

Mentor students on industry projects, internships, and career pathways.
Industry Collaboration

Strengthen industry–academia partnerships through MoUs, joint initiatives, and consultancy projects.

Support internship, placement, and apprenticeship opportunities through professional networks.

Facilitate industry visits, expert sessions, and collaborative innovation activities.
Curriculum Development

Contribute to updating and designing curriculum with a strong focus on practical and emerging industry needs.

Provide insights on technological trends, regulatory frameworks, and market dynamics relevant to the discipline.
Research & Innovation

Guide applied research, innovation challenges, and problem-solving activities addressing real-world issues.

Support incubator activities, entrepreneurship development, and startup collaborations.
Institutional Development

Represent the university in professional forums, industry associations, and policy discussions.

Assist in accreditation, quality enhancement, and strategic innovation initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria

Distinguished professional with minimum 15 years of industry experience in the relevant field.

Recognized for significant contributions, leadership roles, or expertise in industry, public service, or entrepreneurship.

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in the relevant area. (Exceptional professionals with notable achievements may be considered even without a formal academic degree, as per UGC guidelines.)

Strong communication, analytical, and mentoring capabilities.
Preferred Expertise
