About Department

IIMT University is counted among the top state private universities in India, running a very successful engineering school. The Department of Civil Engineering of IIMT University since its establishment has become one of the finest centres of training in the field of Civil Engineering. The department offers a four-year curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and two-year courses leading to Master’s degree in three core specialisations of civil engineering (viz., structural engineering, energy and environmental engineering, transportation engineering and construction technology and management). All the laboratories are equipped with new and advanced equipment and fulfil all the necessary facilities for advanced research work in various fields of civil engineering such as structure engineering, highway engineering, environmental engineering and construction technology etc.

The CE department is known for its qualified and experienced teachers who have many years of experience in teaching and industrial sectors. The Faculty members of Civil Engineering Department are qualified from various reputed institutions across India and they continuously work hard to provide outside knowledge, teach the students as per the requirement of latest technical knowledge and give high quality of research work. The faculty members of our department are SWAYAM/NPTEL certified. The process of result based teaching learning is the method applied by the Civil Engineering Department of IIMTU. Laboratories play an important role in the quality of learning of the students and enhance the quality of research work. It is one of the proud moments for IIMTU Civil Engineering Department that, the department has more than 180+ alumni till date.

The students are proficient in the latest software in the standard curriculum like; AutoCAD, Stade Pro, Primavera, Revit and ETABS etc. Students' attitudes towards study and research work are more focused, as they are using advanced equipment such as Total Station, GPS & Rebound Hammer. The department has some of the best knowledge points to enhance the teaching-learning process like outcome-based learning, research-based learning, and project-based learning. Industrial visits to the students in different semesters, post mid graduation industrial practical training, industry expert FDP and student workshops are organised regularly to accelerate student learning and performance of students.

To make the students job-ready the Department of Civil Engineering has special training sessions on soft-skills and personality development. The faculty members and students have published research articles in prestigious ASCE, SCI, Scopus and UGC care journals.
