About Department

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest Engineering Department of School of Engineering and Technology at IIMT University Meerut. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma programs in mechanical engineering which includes, B. Tech., M. Tech. and Diploma. The Department of Mechanical Engineering strives to be recognised for outstanding education and research leading to produce esteemed engineers who are innovative, entrepreneurial and able to take challenges in the advanced fields of engineering and research.

The department has well established laboratories and state of the art workshop. Laboratories include Fluid Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Manufacturing Science, Engineering Drawing, CAD/CAM, Thermodynamics, Dynamics of Machines, Materials Science, Mechanics of Solids, Measurement and Metrology, Fluid Machinery, Refrigeration and Air conditioning, Production Engineering, Heat and Mass Transfer and Automobile Engineering. Faculty members of the Department of Mechanical Engineering are highly qualified and experienced from industries, research and development organisations. Our Faculty members are encouraged to do research in the field of advanced technology and update their knowledge by attending seminars, conferences and faculty development programs.

ME department is committed to prepare students for their successful careers in the industry that meet the needs of society & country in general and to develop the ability among the students to synthesize data and technical concepts for application to mechanical engineering software. It ensures to provide the students with a solid foundation in the areas of mathematical, scientific and engineering which is essential to excel in solving and analyzing the engineering problems and also to provide them an in-depth knowledge of subjects so that they can participate and succeed in the national and international challenges in the field of mechanical engineering.
