Blood Donation Camp @IIMT University: Honoring Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's Legacy

BLOOD DONATION CAMP @IIMTU

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was an Indian nationalist and statesman whose defiance of British authority in India made him a hero among Indians. To serve the country, he joined the Indian National Congress and participated in the Non-cooperation Movement initiated by Gandhi under his influence. Bose was a revolutionary freedom fighter who founded the Azad Hind Army, also known as the Indian National Army.

Based on his slogan, "तुम मुझे खून दो, मैं तुम्हें आजादी दूंगा' a blood donation camp was organised by Allied Health Sciences on Bose's birth anniversary, January 23, at IIMT University, to promote a sense of responsibility among the youth. Blood donation teaches students valuable lessons about empathy, community service, and the impact of individual actions on society. Engaging in this altruistic act fosters a sense of responsibility towards others, as students witness firsthand how their contribution can save lives. Moreover, it instills the importance of health and well-being, encouraging a culture of caring for both oneself and others. Students also learn about the critical role of blood in medical treatments and emergencies, which enhances their understanding of the broader healthcare system. Participating in blood donation promotes a sense of unity and shared responsibility within the university community. Overall, these camps address the constant demand for blood while also contributing to the holistic development of socially responsible and empathetic individuals within the university setting.

The blood donation camp at IIMT University is of immense importance as it promotes a culture of altruism and community engagement among students. It provides a convenient platform for young and healthy individuals to contribute to saving lives through blood donation. The event not only addresses critical blood shortages but also educates the university community about the significance of voluntary blood donation.

Additionally, it instills a sense of social responsibility and the value of humanitarianism in the student body. By organizing such camps within the IIMT campus, we encourage a lifelong commitment to philanthropy and underscores the vital role educational institutions play in shaping compassionate and socially conscious individuals.

By leaps and bounds, many students and employees of IIMT participated in this noble cause. The camp was organised under the guidance of Dr. Mukesh (Dean of Allied Health Sciences) with support from all the staff of Allied Health Sciences.
