“RID THE FLAME” Cooking without Fire Competition

In order to help the students find their hidden talents and new areas of interest as well as to provide them with a platform on which to improve their creative and decision-making skills, School of Hotel Management Catering & Tourism (SOHMCT) organised “RID THE FLAME” Cooking without Fire Competition on 29th November 2022. Many students from all the schools of IIMT University participated in this fireless cooking competition. The competition provided the students with an opportunity to showcase their culinary knowledge and abilities in the areas of devising and following recipes, preparing dishes and serving them in front of a panel of judges for evaluation on flavour, taste and palatability. In total, 13 teams took part in the competition. Five criteria were used to evaluate their work: dish name, taste, presentation, calorie level and hygiene. Participants offered great food to spark guests' appetites and added plenty of inventiveness. 15 minutes were allotted for the presentation and an hour for preparation of the dish. Chef Ashish Spencer and Chef Sukanta Parmanik were on the judging panel. They had a difficult time picking the winners. The event was overlooked by Mr. Nirbhay Kumar (Dy. Dean - SoHMCT). All the participants received certificates and the Winners also received trophies. Following were the winners of the event:-

1st prize: -- Ms. Sarika (CoE)

2nd prize: -- Ms. Isha Mittal and Ms. Mizbah Rehman ( SoHMCT)

3rd prize: -- Ms. Vanshika, Mr. Siddhant amd Ms. Shivani (SoLST)
