The School of Hotel Management Catering & Tourism (SoHMCT) organised The Indian Sweets Student Training Programme (30 Hours) from 24 April to 12 May
2023 at Food production Lab. It was inaugurated by our Dean Dr. Masood Aslam and validated by our Dy. Dean Mr. Nirbhay Kumar. This student training
programme was well- organised by Chef Sukanta Pramanik & Chef Naveen. The impact of this Indian Sweets Student Training Programme goes beyond the
immediate skill development of the students. It has empowered them with a sense of confidence, instilled in them the importance of preserving traditional
culinary practices, and equipped them with entrepreneurial skills to potentially pursue careers in the culinary arts.
During the programme, students had the opportunity to learn about different types of Indian sweets, such as Gulab Jamun, Kala Jamun, Badli Jamun, Jalebi,
Amrti, Coconut Barfi, Chocolate Burfi, Tiranga Barfi, Malpua Rabri, Malai Ghevar, Motichoor Laddu, Besan Laddu, Rasmalai, Rasgulla, Balushahi, and Chandrakala.
These delectable treats represent the rich and diverse culinary heritage of India, showcasing its vibrant flavours and traditional techniques. The students honed
their skills in preparing these sweets, mastering the art of creating the perfect texture,aroma, and presentation.
