About School
School of Basic Sciences and Technology (SoBST) was established in 2017 with a vision to impart quality education in the field of basic sciences and technology. Initially, the journey began with the undergraduate courses B.Sc. (PCM) and B.Sc. (PSM) in 2017 and subsequently, Postgraduate courses M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Statistics and Doctorate programs in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Statistics were introduced. This is why IIMT University is one of the best university in UP.
The ambition of SoBST School is to provide a strong foundation that leads to success in subsequent career and educational programs to the intermediate and graduate students, who come from different educational boards or universities. When students leave our school, they are prepared for careers in industries or academia for further studies.
SoBST encourages a research-based approach, utilizing the expertise and potential of the world-class faculties and state-of-the-art architecture which allows it to offer exciting programs in the disciplinary and interdisciplinary areas of science and technology. Presently the school has well-established and fully furnished departments moving ahead with a strong team of highly qualified and well-experienced faculty members.
Students enrolled in various disciplines in SoBST, achieve their respective academic goals under the expert supervision of subject teachers and mentors. Students are also encouraged to participate in various seminars, conferences, workshops, and educational and industrial visits.
Regular extracurricular activities are organized to groom the students in various academic areas like competitive NET, JRF, GATE, and PSU exams. In addition to U.G. & P.G. courses, the school also offers Ph.D. courses in various disciplines such as Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Statistics. The Ph.D. program provides lots of opportunities in research and development firms, teaching in academia, economic research firms, state-of-the-art laboratories, pharmaceuticals synthesis etc.

Since its beginning, IIMTU has pioneered various doctorates, postgraduate and undergraduate degree programs and continues to contribute to the cutting-edge research. We admit students in the discipline of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Statistics for Ph.D., M.Sc., and B.Sc. Programs. The areas of interdisciplinary research include mathematical & computational sciences, quantum technologies, chemical technologies, and statistical techniques. Highlight
- The Department of Basic Sciences and Technology is a part of IIMT University since 2017.
- The department offers B.Sc. (PCM), B.Sc. (PSM), M.Sc. (Mathematics), M.Sc. (Statistics), M.Sc. (Chemistry) and Ph.D. programs in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Statistics.
- The department has one Physics lab, two Chemistry labs, one Computer lab, and one departmental library for undergraduate, postgraduate and research students.
- At present there are 25 faculty members in the department of which, 5 are Professors, 5 are Associate Professors and 15 are Assistant Professors.
- The department is also active in research and offers Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Statistics and having 12 scholars at present.
