Hands-On Training at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Research Center (ABVRC), AITH, Kanpur

Seven dedicated students from the B.Sc. Biotechnology III year—Dishti Sharma, Tanushree, Nidhi Sharma, Gunjan, Ahana Tyagi, Nikita, and Shivam Pandey—successfully completed an intensive training program at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Research Center (ABVRC). The one-month program offered unparalleled hands-on training, providing these students with critical exposure to advanced biotechnological practices. ABVRC ensured comprehensive support, including visits to the National Sugar Institute (NSI), insightful lectures from renowned scientists, and excellent hostel facilities for female students.

Noteworthy Dissertation Publications

Students from the PG Biotechnology program have made significant contributions to scientific literature, with Prigya Sharma, Aaryan Bharadwaj, and Aakash Philip Bhawna Goyal successfully publishing their dissertation work. Furthermore, three other students are in the process of finalizing their publications. The dissertation topics covered diverse aspects of biotechnology, completed under the mentorship of esteemed institutions:

  • Aaryan Bharadwaj at IIT Roorkee
  • Bhawna Goyal at IIT BHU
  • Nandini Saini at IIT BHU
  • Fiza Gaur at Patanjali, Haridwar
  • Tushar Singh at the Institute of Transgene and Life Science, Lucknow
  • Diya Sharma at Maha Awtar Healthcare Pvt. Ltd, New Delhi

Collaborations with Prominent Labs

  • Aaryan Bharadwaj worked with the Dr. Saugata Hazra Group at IIT Roorkee.
  • Bhawna Goyal and Nandini Saini conducted their research under the guidance of Prof. P.K. Mishra's Labs at IIT BHU, Varanasi.

Success in Competitive Examinations

The Department of Biotechnology celebrates Nishant Kumar, a B.Sc. Biotechnology student (2021-2024 session), for clearing the IIT JAM-2024 and securing admission at IIT Mumbai. His success exemplifies the department's commitment to academic excellence and rigorous preparation.

Selection for High-End Workshop on Sustainable Waste Management and Recycling

The first-year students of the M.Sc. Biotechnology Program (2023-24) have been selected for the prestigious High-End Workshop - Karyashala, sponsored by SERB, DST, New Delhi. This workshop, focused on Sustainable Waste Management and Recycling, will be held from 11th March to 17th March 2024 at MNIT Jaipur. This opportunity allows students to gain in-depth knowledge and practical skills in sustainable practices, preparing them for future challenges in the field of biotechnology.

Industrial Visit to YAKULT – SONIPAT

On 4th April 2024, the students of the Biotechnology department embarked on an enlightening industrial visit to YAKULT – SONIPAT. This visit provided a firsthand experience of industrial processes and the application of biotechnological principles in a real-world setting. Such visits are integral to the curriculum, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
